We noticed some text issues in the practice mission package briefings so we have updated that package to correct that issue.

We have also updated the AFT01, AFT02 and AFT03 standalone mission packages.

They have received the same updated maps and diagrams and adjusted briefing text so it no longer gets truncated.

A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign and Practice Mission Package Updated!

The latest version of DCS World 1.2.16.37730 broke one of the triggers we use to test for Flare deployment in AFT05 - Illumination Flare Employment.

We have fixed that issue and at the same time updated the maps and diagrams and adjusted the briefing text so it no longer gets truncated.

You can download the updated copies here (note you need to install both Part A and Part B for the campaign to work properly):

A-10A, F-15C and MiG-29G Campaigns and Documentation Updated!

A user with Military Pilot experience gave us some feedback about our Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaigns.

He pointed out that our Lazy Eight maneuver in BFT06 - Advanced Handling was actually more of a Cuban Eight or Figure Eight than a true Lazy Eight.

We agreed and have updated the campaign mission file and diagrams to reflect the true Lazy Eight maneuver.

Files have been updated on ED's User Files Section and available from the links below:

A-10A - BFT Qualification Campaign
A-10A - BFT Documentation

MiG-29G - BFT Qualification Campaign
MiG-29G - BFT Documentation

F-15C - BFT Qualification Campaign
F-15C - BFT Documentation

Hopefully this makes the Lazy Eight maneuver more accurate and easier for players to successfully complete.

Making AI JTAC Work In Missions

Many players have had problems getting AI JTAC to work in their missions.

It can be very difficult at times but with some sample missions to work from and some experimentation you can make it work.

In this forum post we provide some example missions, and trk files so you can experiment with it yourself and see that it does work.

In the Lasing sample mission trk we use a GBU-12 to guide on the laser designated by the AI JTAC to show that the weapon will guide properly.

The JTAC unit should be a US Armed Humvee and we have had good success using FM 30.0 as the radio setting.  We have not had a chance to experiment with other countries or units.

For LASER and IR Pointer designations you do need to be wary of LOS (Line of Sight).  The mission editor will display an orange warning message if your JTAC does not have LOS to properly lase or IR pointer the target selected.

According to ED only terrain blocks LOS at present so trees, buildings and other structures should not effect it.

We hope this information helps those mission designers who were having trouble getting JTAC to work properly in their missions.

A-10A, F-15C and MiG-29G Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaign Download Packages Updated

We made some minor zone improvements (making them bigger so they are easier to hit) and adjusted the end mission music so it doesn't overlap with the voice dialogue (the DCS World 1.2.15 update changed the way sounds are processed).

We also updated the A-10A and F-15C installers to support those users who don't have Flaming Cliffs but only purchased the individual A-10A or F-15C modules.

Downloads are available from ED's User Files section with references from our website.

Thanks.

IMMORTAL Option Setting Causes Damaged Trigger to Report Aircraft Damaged

We were able to reproduce this issue on DCS World 1.2.14.36041 and in 1.2.15.37241.

If the IMMORTAL option setting is enabled in the GAMEPLAY options then the Mission Editor UNIT_DAMAGED trigger will report that the aircraft is damaged on mission start.

See this thread for a sample mission that can be used to replicate the issue.

The c_unit_damaged function should not report the aircraft as damaged if the IMMORTAL option is turned on.

This issue appears to effect the majority of aircraft modules and is not limited to any particular module as far as we can tell.

Other threads related to this issue: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138768

Hopefully this can be fixed soon.  For now we recommend turning this option off in the GAMEPLAY options setting.
